Chengdu Economic and Technological Development Zone

  Chengdu Economic and Technological Development Zone (ETDZ) is located in the east of Chengdu. In February 2000, it was officially approved as a National Economic and Technological Development Zone by the State Council. In September 2005, it was approved as the State (Chengdu) Electronic Components Industrial Park by the National Ministry of Information Industry. In October 2010, it was approved as the construction unit of a new type of industrialization demonstration base of the national auto industry by the National Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The total planning area of ETDZ is 56.34 square kilometers. ETDZ is a modern manufacturing base set by Sichuan Province and Chengdu City and dominated by the motor vehicles (construction machinery) and key components, two“distinctive growing one-hundred billion industrial parks”cultivated by Sichuan province, the body section of the comprehensive functional areas of Chengdu automotive industry and the backbone of Tianfu New District which is being planned to build. In the comprehensive evaluation on all ETDZs of China carried out in 2011, it ranked the 27th in the country and the second in the west.
